Rant // New Bloggers and Freebies ๐Ÿ‘

Hey guys!
I’ve seen so much crap on Facebook and Twitter from new bloggers and about freebies so I thought I would do my first rant about this.

I know we all have to start somewhere at some stage, as I’m still classed as a newbie but recently I’ve seen so much new bloggers complaining on how they haven’t been contacted from companies to review things and all that kinda stuff.

I don’t think they realise that it’s hard to get companies to send you stuff. I also don’t think they realise it costs the company to send you the products and they want to make a profit from it. Whether they are big or small companies they will most likely only send you products if you have proof of the stats and that they will get sales from you’re post. Otherwise they won’t send you products (no offence).

At the end of the day blogging takes time, it’s not going to happen over night. It takes a lot of commitment and work. It won’t come in weeks or months. It can also take a few years for some bloggers. And if you are just in it for the freebies you have been doing it for the wrong reasons.

Sorry guys! I just needed to get this of my chest!

I completely agree with you! I’m not in this for the freebies and I would only ever accept one if it were a product I was genuinely interested it. Do some people not understand how much of a sellout it makes them seem?! Sigh. Glad to see someone else with a bit of sense!

I know! I’ve gotten samples from Forever Living and got Kryolan Brushes sent to me. I’m grateful for them all but samples are so hard to work from and as i said they probably wont even send you full products because it costs them a fortune! X

Too true! I started blogging 10weeks ago and didn’t realise that blogging reviews were sooo big tbh! I write the blog to share my experiences (and have a written account for my girls) but have been reading many blogging forums and totally agree no matter what the reason for blogging, time must be given to build an audience! x

Being new to blogging myself I haven’t come across this as of yet but I’d have to agree with you.
It’s takes work to build your blog & it’s important to respect your readers to give them quality & not be going out of your way looking for a “free” ride
Well done on the online magazine deal ๐Ÿ™‚

definily agree on this! I’ve been blogging seriously for about a year now and I’ve only been contacted by companies once or twice. Some people think it’s easy and just happens over night!

I agree its obvious that some blogs are only in it for the freebies while others blog for themselves and greatly appreciate being sent products to review. I have been blogging a while but have never received anything and it doesn’t bother me I started my blog as a hobby and enjoy writing about things I like or dislike.

Getting brands to notice you to even if just to favourite or re-tweet your latest blogpost in which you’ve mentioned them in can be hard enough and so trying to get a brand to send you their latest launches is nearly impossible. A lot of it is how you present yourself really, I’ve never been asked to state my stats ect, but I know that a lot of people have. It just depends on the relationships you’re able to build with the PR team out there. & I completely agree with you that if you’re blogging for freebies you shouldn’t waste your time on your blog. Blogging can take a lot of hard work and dedication, it will become clear if you have ulterior motives. Lovely post!

Thanks for sending your link over in the twitter chat!
